It ain't 'alf 'ot Mum!

From broiling sunny Spain here is a welcome steamed out of my hide by the Levante wind which is showing a cool dry 85º and magnifying the effect of a sun that seems to have forgotten that it is September.

How odd that just a couple of hundred miles away Spaniards are complaining that winter has come early this year. Rain has fallen that has stripped the seals from car windscreens and shattered corrugated asbestos roofing. Hail stones the size of golf balls have devastated the peach harvest and stripped trees of their leaves and smaller branches. The temperature has fallen to less than 65º.

Never mind. Next year it will all be forgotten as new, bigger and better crises descend upon us and rend our lives to kindling.
